Boys & Girls Club of Oroville – Butte County Juvenile Hall

At Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a positive future. Our Juvenile Hall program provides consistent, relationship-driven support during custody and throughout a youth’s transition back into the community. In partnership with Butte County Probation, Juvenile Hall staff, and the TMS school team, we deliver year-round programming, mentorship, and reentry support designed to help youth build confidence, stability, and a path forward.

BGCNV operates one of only 13 Boys & Girls Club programs nationwide located within a juvenile detention facility, providing daily access to trusted mentors, skill-building opportunities, and real-world experiences.

What Youth Experience
Every activity is designed to help youth build confidence, strengthen life skills, develop healthy relationships, and prepare for success after release.

  • Daily programming across five core areas: Character & Leadership, Education & Career Development, The Arts, Sports & Recreation, and Health & Wellness
  • Financial literacy through programs like Money Matters
  • STEM, creative arts, and hands-on learning
  • Leadership development through Leaders in Training (L.I.T.)
  • Physical activity and wellness through Triple Play

Our program also provides direct case management, service learning, community service, and work experience opportunities for youth. In addition, BGCNV serves as the diversion and restorative justice program partner for the Butte County Probation Department.

Beyond the Hall
Lasting change happens when young people have consistent support from adults who believe in them. Through mentorship, accountability, and positive opportunities, we help youth recognize their strengths, build resilience, and create a path toward a brighter future. To support successful transitions back into the community, the Club helps address practical barriers that can impact a young person’s success. Support may include essential household furnishings, bicycles to improve transportation access, community service opportunities, job-readiness experiences, and connections to critical resources. Eligible youth are also granted memberships to one of our community Teen Centers, where they can continue to access positive activities, supportive relationships, and ongoing resources that promote long-term success.
