Boys & Girls Clubs of the North Valley (BGCNV) is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1995 to provide comprehensive youth development services, activities, and programs in the Northstate region. Governed by a local board of volunteer directors, BGCNV is staffed by over 100 youth development professionals and supported by more than 500 community volunteers.

BGCNV currently serves over 1,600 youth across 11 sites in Butte and Glenn Counties, offering members ages 5 to 18 a wide range of high-quality programs in Academics, Health & Wellness, and Character & Leadership. Our primary focus is on out-of-school time programs designed to foster positive youth development.

Mission: To inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential as responsible, productive and caring citizens.

Vision: Provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

For over 100 years, Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide have been guided by four unique characteristics that successfully attract youth from all backgrounds and enhance our ability to collaborate with organizations sharing similar goals and values.

  • Boys & Girls Clubs are dedicated spaces just for youth, where they feel a sense of belonging, ownership, and pride. They are reliable, open daily when kids need them most.
  • Staffed by highly trained youth development professionals, the Clubs provide long-term mentoring and positive guidance, addressing the diverse challenges young people face.
  • Accessible and affordable, Boys & Girls Clubs ensure that every child is welcome, and no one is ever turned away.

Cost: An annual membership is just $100. For families unable to afford this fee, scholarships are available. While the true cost of serving each member is approximately $2,500 per year, the generosity of our community donors and funders ensures that no child is ever turned away due to financial need—we always put kids first
