In addition to Youth of the Year, Cory was Torch Club and Keystone President for the Boys & Girls Club of Chico. When we asked Cory about his experience he said:
“I still think fondly of my days in the Club and it was always a safe space for me. When I came out and was beat up at school you came to help me when no else in my family would. Thank you for the great work you all do, trust me when I say it makes a difference. It saved me in more ways than I can express, I am successful and alive today because of the Club.”
