Support Maddie’s Journey as our Youth of the Year of the North Valley by helping us raise $3,500.
The Youth of the Year program is the Boys & Girls Clubs’ highest honor, celebrating teens who exemplify leadership, service, academic excellence, and healthy lifestyles. Since 1947, this program has recognized outstanding young people who inspire their peers and strengthen their communities.
Each year, Club members ages 14–18 are selected as Youth of the Month and Youth of the Year, with opportunities to advance to state, regional, and national competitions. Honorees receive scholarships that help them pursue college and career goals.
For years, depression made Maddie feel like she was sinking. But at the Boys & Girls Club, she found a place that lifted her up. She first walked through the doors eleven years ago as a shy kid. Through programs like Junior Staff, SMART Girls, Kids in the Kitchen, and art programs, she discovered confidence, friendship, and mentors who believed in her. The Club became her safe haven – a place to grow, express herself, and heal.
Through COVID, personal loss, and mental health challenges, the Club stood by her with academic support, emotional guidance, and lessons in leadership and resilience. Today, Maddie dreams of helping teens and families facing addiction and mental health struggles, inspired by the support she received through the Club.
Your generosity makes stories like hers possible. This program sets up young leaders like Maddie for success so they can continue to grow, thrive, and shine. When you give to the Boys & Girls Clubs, you provide mentorship, stability, and hope that help young people build brighter futures.
